Li Mei has created a beautiful and unique space to display our work: abstract acrylics by Lori, floral photographs by Dana, and oil portraits by Li Mei!

Lori Poncsak, Li Mei Norton and I are looking forward to seeing you at our show this Saturday and Sunday, January 14&15!!

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE OPEN SATURDAY, JANUARY 14 FROM 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM. GUEST RECEPTION BEGINS AT 3:00 PM

ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 15, WE ARE OPEN FROM 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM. DO NOT COME EARLIER AS THE STREETS WILL BE CLOSED.

Wine will be provided by our next door neighbor Nicole from the Pasadena Wine Shop. We will also have unique rainbow rice desserts (gluten free and vegan!) by Tracy and Celene Carrera’s pop-up Indonesian food sensation Bungkus Bagus.

For our guest reception we’ll be featuring a beautifully decorated charcuterie platter and cookies by Stems, a three-generation women owned catering company in Pasadena.

We will also have kosher candy treats for our friends who adhere to holy dietary needs, coffee from Ecuador and a few other surprise treats!

Here’s more information about our featured artists: Li Mei, who is originally from Taiwan, opened her studio in 2020. It was her dream to paint full time and create a space where she can showcase her oil paintings. She also offers her studio to other artists who wish to exhibit their work, like Lori and myself!

Li Mei focuses on “creating bold, colorful art through portraits to express the life and soul of each subject.”

She also specializes in commission work—below is a beautifully rendered dynamic oil portrait of a client’s grandson from a photograph.

Lori Poncsak has been painting for more than 20 years, building a body of work based on her exploration of form and color.

“Painting to me is freedom. Freedom to express emotion through color, light and line. I paint with no expectations, borrowing from the previous layers until I feel satisfied with the results.”

Lori’s work has been commissioned for medical offices, talent agencies and homes. She can customize the color and size of her work depending on your decor and wall space. She paints on canvas that can be installed with or without a frame.

My work focuses mostly on floral images. I shoot with a close up lens and work in Lightroom and Photoshop to enhance color and add digital textures to make them painterly and three dimensional. You’ll see my images printed on directly on wood and metal. And I will be featuring fine art print enlargements at the show and on my website.

100% of the proceeds from the sale of my work and a portion of the proceeds from Li Mei and Lori Poncsak’s art sales will go to the Dana Pepper Endowment Fund at City of Hope. When you buy a work of art, you are also investing into a legacy of philanthropy, knowing that you’ve helped grow a fund to help families who’ve been financially strained by a cancer diagnosis.

If you can’t make it to the show, you can visit my shop on the website. I will be updating the site to reflect new images and products.

If you’d like to make a straight donation to the fund without purchasing art-that is a wonderful gesture! Email June Penrod at jpenrod@coh.org. She is Senior Executive Director of Planned Giving. I am incredibly thankful for her dedication!
