Evan's Bar Mitzvah {Los Angeles Mitzvah Photographer}
I was excited but admittedly a little nervous when Rabbi Rick and his wife April from Temple Sinai of Glendale asked me to be their son's Bar Mitzvah photographer.
Sure I've shot many Mitzvahs at the Temple and actually it's been such a wonderful place to learn and practice my skills.
Still though, there is a little more pressure to make sure I capture the joy and the deep bonds that this family shares, as well as include the hundreds of congregants who were there to celebrate this grand tradition!
Not to worry though. Evan always had a big smile and I got everyone laughing and feeling at ease. Once our Bar Mitzvah boy was on the bima chanting Torah, you could sense the confidence and deep gratitude he felt. His appreciation for his younger sister was so sweet. And the Rabbi and his wife, albeit emotional, held it together admirably.
The reception held afterward was a blast and clearly we broke the fire code with so many people cramming the Social Hall, but this was special.
Loud music? Yep. Hora dancing and chair lifting? Yep. Crazy musical chairs and hundred dollar bills being ripped and women's shoes flying? Yep. Lots of intergenerational dancing? Yep.
Oh but how wonderful it is to have the whole community and your family and friends in one room to celebrate the Rabbi's son.
Mazel Tov Evan!
